    355050 - VIP After-Hours Guided Tour

    Avoid the midday heat and crowds and join us for an after-hours tour of Gumbo Limbo’s outdoor aquariums, open-air butterfly garden, and Ashley Nature Trail. Parts of the tour take place on a mulched trail; please call if you have accessibility questions.

    • Advanced reservations are required.
    • Adults and children ages 7 and up; adults must register and participate with minors.
    • Cost per person: City of Boca Raton/Beach and Park District Resident/Gumbo Limbo Coastal Steward Member $10; All others $13
    • Programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather or minimum registration.

    355410 - Family Summer Snorkel

    The mangrove ecosystem is known as the nursery of the ocean. Come explore the back side of the island with us as we snorkel the shallow Intracoastal waters to study the animals sheltered and protected from the ocean’s dangers here. Bring your own snorkel, mask, and water shoes (no fins allowed).

    Our adventure starts in our classroom learning about the sea turtles we find nesting in Florida. Then, we will venture out for a walk along the beach and the chance to see a nesting loggerhead turtle (sorry, no guarantees)!

    355490 - 2023 Hatchling Release

    Meet at Gumbo Limbo for a presentation in the classroom, then drive to the beach where our staff will release the hatchlings onto the wet sand by the water. Watch as the tiny turtles make their way down to the waves, and head off into the surf.
    IMPORTANT! No flashlight or cell phone use permitted on the beach.
    NOTE: Program is rain or shine; come prepared for the weather. For the safety of all involved, the outdoor portion will be cancelled if lightning is detected nearby.
    • Advanced reservations are required.
    • All Ages: children under 18 must attend with an adult. Children UNDER 12 months do not need to be registered.
